£500 grant received

Lin Clark thanking Ian Thomas of Pevensey Coastal Defence for their generous grant of £500 on behalf of Pevensey Villages Partnership.

Pevensey Villages Partnership were thrilled to receive a grant f £500 from Pevensey Coastal Defence Ltd.  To be trusted with so much money by such a large company, creates a really strong “feel good” factor.  The partnership will spend this wisely with their objective, to work for the future of the villages, firmly in mind.

As money is being gathered, a host of ideas are coming in from all over the villages.  It is of course important to spend wisely, and there are several projects in the pipeline that will help to bring people to the area.  We have long since needed good clear signage in and around the villages, and this is something that is being considered, with a grant application being made to provide the money needed.

While we need to be looking at supporting our high streets and the businesses there, after all they matter to every one of us, the partnership also wants to support the very groups that have always contributed to the welfare of the villagers.

The Pevensey Villages website, www.pevenseyvillages.org,  is fast becoming the most comprehensive information hub that the three villages have ever shared or seen, but information can only be there when it is known.  If you would like your own group or club to appear then you need to get in touch.  It is completely free to have your group listed, and to have your meetings and events advertised in the “whats on” pages.

With the whole community in mind, Pevensey Villages Partnership will be organising two big events each year to bring people together.  The first is the Dickensian evening in Pevensey.  There will be stalls, carol singing, a parade, and much more, and of course Santa has been invited !  There is ample free parking, and with safety in mind, the high street will be closed for the event.  The date for your diaries is Saturday 6th December.

The summer of 2015 will see a big event day, including a village fete, displays, and family fun encompassing the 3 villages.  Pevensey Villages Partnership has been gathering momentum since its beginnings at the end of March.  It is your partnership, everyone is welcome to be part of this community project, so do get in touch.
