If you’d like to come down and see Pevensey Fire Station and how it all works – then do come along for the open day. Later on the firemen will be coming along to look after our safety at the Ceremonial Bonfire on the beach.
The first ever garden competition is taking place in Westham this summer. During the Scarecrow Festival fortnight, gardens will be visited by the judges. There are 2 categories this first year, Best Front Garden and Best Hanging Baskets and Planters.
Its not about perfect gardens. If your garden has been looked after with loving care, if you have pretty flowerbeds, if you have hanging baskets full of colour, if you have neatly cut lawns, if you have a shingle garden with planters, or even if……….
Any kind of garden can be entered. You may not think yours is special, but the judges might think differently – you won’t know unless you put your toes in the water and send in your entry. The first entries have come in today. We’d like to see a lot of gardens take part.
We have organised the competition for all those who asked, and now we just need your support if it is to carry on for years to come. We have two beautiful hand crafted wood trophies, something really different, that will each be held for a year. There are also garden vouchers to be won.
So go on be a devil – join those already entered and send in your name and address now.
