Entries have started coming in for the Scarecrow Competition, but we would like many more. It would be great to see at least 100 scarecrows in the villages. They can be the traditional kind on a cross post or they can be made stuffed and more “people like”. Whichever style you choose to make it doesn’t have to be elaborate. Its about the fun of taking part in our first ever Scarecrow Festival. Vines Flowers have sponsored the competition by donating a cash prize – now theres a bit of encouragement for you ! So come on get those entries in !
Our Garden Competition is getting under way with our first entries. Two lucky residents will be enjoying the two lovely trophies sponsored by Sharnfold Farm and Stone Cross Garden Centre. It is important to have as many gardens as possible taking part, especially as it is the first time that Westham and Stone Cross have had a Garden Competition. So if you haven’t entered yet, or know someone who you think would like to then please do make it known to us by entering. You don’t need to do anything special and you don’t need to be there when the judges come round. There are two categories : Best Front Garden and Best Hanging Baskets and Planters.
