Priority help in a Power Cut

PRIORITY HELP AVAIABLE

With winter on the way, there is always the possibility of localised power cuts caused by severe storms. UK Power Networks has launched a scheme to enable vulnerable people to register for priority help in the event of such a power cut. Those eligible include people who are dependent on medical equipment, people with a disability, the elderly, people with young babies and nursing and residential homes.

By registering for UK Power Networks’ free Priority Service, customers will get:-

A priority phone number that you can call 24 hours a day

A welcome pack with useful advice about preparing for a power cut

Regular text messages or phone updates during a power cut

Extra support from the British Red Cross

Gulls are a common sight on our beaches, but even so its very hard to see them close up as they soar high above the sands.

A light nourishing vegetarian lunch dish

Ingredients
25g butter
10ml oil
1 sliced onion
1 diced boiled potato
100g chopped tomatoes
50g chopped red or green pepper
4 eggs

Method
Heat oil and butter
Add onion and potato and fry until coloured
Add tomato and pepper and fry for a few minutes
Beat eggs and add to pan and allow to set until base is firm
Put under a hot grill and allow to just set
Slide onto plate and cut into portions
Serve with green salad
